Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

This policy explains what information ryantinker.com (“the site”) collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Ryan Tinker Custom Software, a one-person software consultancy based in Portland, Oregon. Questions? Email ryan@ryantinker.com.

01Information collected

Information you give me. If you email me or book a call, I receive what you send — typically your name, email address, and whatever you choose to share about your project. Calls are scheduled through Cal.com, which collects your name and email to book the meeting.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site logs basic technical data when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you arrived. This is used to understand traffic and improve the site.

Website-visitor identification. This site uses third-party tools that may identify the business associated with a visit and, for visitors in the United States, may match a visit to an individual (for example, a name and professional/LinkedIn profile) using your IP address and the providers’ own business databases. This helps me understand which companies and people are interested in my services so I can follow up. These tools do not identify visitors located in the EU/UK.

02Cookies & similar technologies

The site uses cookies and similar identifiers for analytics and visitor identification. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may work differently if you do. Many browsers also support a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal.

03Analytics & third-party services

I rely on a few third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

04How information is used

05How information is shared

I do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers listed above (who process it on my behalf) and where required by law. If I ever hand off a project to a developer on your team, I share only what’s needed for that work.

06Your choices & rights

You can control cookies through your browser, use Google’s analytics opt-out add-on, and email me at ryan@ryantinker.com to ask what information I hold about you, or to request that it be corrected or deleted. I’ll honor reasonable requests.

California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. EU/UK visitors: the visitor-identification tools above are not directed to you, and you have rights of access and erasure under the GDPR. To exercise any of these, just email me.

07Data retention & children

I keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.

08Changes

I may update this policy as the site or the tools it uses change. The “last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.

This policy is provided in good faith and in plain English. It isn’t legal advice; if you have specific compliance requirements, consult an attorney.
